Smith & Sons Radiomobile 200X car radio vintage 1950s
This is an original condition vintage Smith & Sons Radiomobile car stereo radio, dating from around 1950s. This model would be popular in British brands of the era. In OK condition for a survivor of its age and with no significant exterior damage but plenty of scope for cleaning. All knobs & buttons are present and the knobs turn as they should.
The dial is still clear with no scratches or missing paint. The black painted front panel is needing a bit of fresh paint. The original labels is still on the body but has a few scratches.
The serial number plate is visible but I'm not convinced it's complete as the number seems very short. The body (hidden when installed) has a few extremely light corrosion marks as you would expect even if the radio was still in a car, but the paint is still good. All items included in the listing are displayed in the photos - I cannot vouch for the radio being complete and/or functional. I have been informed that there is a second part to this model, but I do not have it available at the moment. Car radios are not my specialist area of interest, hence I haven't been able to test these radios, but I think that the person I bought them off originally would've had them working to some degree.
My hope is that these radios - see my others listed separately - will go to new homes that will have them working and installed in the correct era cars. More photos available on request, and I'll try to answer any questions to the best of my ability.
