In the 1970, s the "standard" was to have 1 speaker, only later did we settle on stereo so 2 speaker sets like this one, as well as having FM are STANDOUT better than what was common in the era. This benefits from having 5 useable station pre-sets, tone control. ARI was the precursor to RDS which we can no longer use but it looks cool! Blaupunkts were commonly used as an upgrade in the 70s and 80s and were often "overbadged" as standard fit FORD or OPEL - BMW VW etc radios, all conform to a standard size in terms of the front panel with 130mm control centres, roughly 150mm wide and 45mm deep. I fully service, deep clean, test all radios from a RESTORATION point of view, being a member of radiomuseum i want to keep everything as-original and ideally as near new condition as possible, so often hours of care and attention has been spent on a unit to prepare it for its new lease of life.
I do supply a cable to input mp3 or ipod in to the radio (or some radios have the wire directly wired in to the radio), this is non-intrusive and does not affect the originality of the radio in any way, i have also added different colour fascia lights. Triggers etc for people if they so desire. GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.............. Cheaper radios will be mono or MW, you may require MONO so be sure to work this out before looking. 2 speakers will cost more, stereo is not 2 speaker so stereo again is the next step up.
Radios with options for 6v/12v pos / neg earth will be another step up. Then there is condition, like new or as new are the hardest to find. All radios, are tamper sealed with pictures logged. Please contact should you require any sort of support when fitting including electrical fitting, mountings, wires. All of my radios undergo a thorough check and clean and bench test before being carefully packed and hand delivered by Hermes.
